NURSERY & EARLY YEARS

Our Early Years unit is an important part of our school - it's where everything else begins, after all.

Our aim is to prepare children for the expectations of 'big school' through the development of early writing, reading and number skills, in line with the Early Years Framework, whilst still maintaining a play-led ethos. Children also learn the routines and expectations of the main school so that when they join Year one they're ready to thrive.

Children in Nursery and Reception are taught holistically, side-by-side, ensuring that as soon as our Nursery pupils decide they're ready to start learning, they can!

FUNDING FOR NURSERY PLACES

We offer provision under both the 15-hour and 30-hour Free Entitlement Funding (FEF) arrangements - to find out which one you qualify for, and to apply, visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

It is also possible for Nursery pupils to access our Breakfast Club from 8:00 and our After School Club until 17:30; this means your FEF hours can be used from 8:00 to 5:30 each day in a way that suits your childcare needs. We do have limited places for this age range however, so please check beforehand.

Nursery charges beyond your FEF entitlement are £4:00 per hour and hot, nutritious lunches can be provided for £2.10 per day; collecting a full child at lunchtime is much better than an empty one!

If you'd like to find out more about our excellent nursery provision the best way to do so is to contact Mr Spencer, or Mrs Sloane to arrange a visit and see it in action! This is also a great opportunity to ask all the pressing questions that a written prospectus can't answer.
