- KS2 Outdoor Ed session - Willow Hides29Nov2023

Wednesday afternoons are when our Wild Passport lessons happen this year, Mrs Britton will have plans to be in one of our outdoor areas. Sessions will be 'whole class' this year and run after lunch. Children should dress for the weather on days when they have a session. This week we will have willow experts onsite to guide Mrs Britton and KS2 pupils to prune and restore our willow hides. It's likely to be come increasingly muddy as the day goes on - wellies are an essential item! Note: Outdoor sessions will take a break during December to accommodate other festive activities. Timetable for January onwards to be confirmed.

Mr Draper will be ready to teach the notes. Children need their recorder to play them. All KS2 children receive a school recorder, which is labelled. If this is lost, we will charge for a replacement.
- KS2 - gymnastics and trampolining30Nov2023

KS2 pupils (who are not still part of the swimming programme) will experience gymnastics and trampolining at the Sands Centre over a 5-period. They should come to school 'gym ready' -i.e trackies, leggings and/or shorts; normal school polo shirt. note: Children must not wear jewellery for these sessions - earrings must be removed.

THIS IS THE FINAL SWIMMING SESSION THIS YEAR Year 3&4 will have swimming lessons at the Pools. Swimming is a statutory curriculum subject. The target for all pupils is to be able to: 1. swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres 2. use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke] 3. perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations Selected Year 5&6 pupils (approx. 9) will also join sessions if they have not yet met the curriculum standards. These pupils will commence after Year 3&4 have had their first lessons together.

Paul will be here this afternoon for PE sessions with KS1 & 2. Dress code: FULL PE KIT DAY: Active lower (trainers, plain black joggers/leggings/shorts), PE shirt* Bring a plain black fleece/hoodie as a warm layer. A good chance to get the uniform through the wash before the weekend. *PE Shirt is a Jade/Emerald Green - if you haven't got one, a standard school polo shirt is also fine.
